HISTORY

MSDGC

2004-2007

In 2004, Jason and Kelly Southwick, Steve Dodge, and Joe "Lick Me" Proud, invited the best players in the world to come try their hand at being crowned the best player on Marshall Street. This is where it all started from the high level of competition, to the focus on fun and side games. Hair cuts, Rindecella, Poolball, and much more were all put in motion from the very beginning.

VIBRAM OPEN
2008-2017

In 2007, Jason and Steve, who co-founded Marshall Street Disc Golf and the MSDGC split the company. Jason continued forward with the pro shop while Steve focused on the tournament. Wonderfully, they both succeeded, with Vibram stepping in as the title sponsor for the next ten years while also bringing Steve on to create and head up the Vibram Disc Golf business unit.

MVP OPEN
2018-2021

In 2017, Vibram paused their disc golf operations. Steve called MVP Disc Sports and 20 minutes later the event had a new title partner. Three years later, MVP would sign a ten year deal and solidify their position as the title partner of what has grown into one of the most prestigious, beloved, and fun events each year.
